In this furniture the frame of structures has been designed based on magnificent architectural symbols of Persepolis.
And the miniature images which are on the tables and behind the furniture are taken from the stories of Ferdowsi’s Shahnameh.
We invite those who are interested in unique works to share with us in creating this piece. In this collection, we have produced a set of furniture with the aim of presenting a distinctive product inspired by original Iranian culture and art, as well as the architectural style of Iran and the ancient civilization of Iran, in a way that goes beyond the ordinary and reveals its uniqueness to people around the world.
In this furniture, the carved structure is based on the architectural monuments of Persepolis, and the miniature images on the tables and on the back of the furniture are inspired by the stories of Ferdowsi’s Shahnameh.
In Persian art, the lion has long symbolized power, authority, grandeur, and glory. Lion motifs were particularly prominent in Achaemenid art. In the Sorena collection, the carved lion heads and lion-paw feet honor this enduring tradition of craftsmanship.
The symbols and elements which have been used in this furniture have been taken from Achaemenian art (559–330 BC) especially Persepolis palace which is a glorious collection of proud art and civilization of Achaemenian kingdom.
The lion’s head, which is one of the prominent symbols in Achaemenian art, represents power, authority, greatness and glory. The lion’s head has been used in the design of the furniture, especially at the top part of the legs and the lion’s paws have been designed elegantly under all part of the legs of the work.
One of the best and most noble symbols of Achaemenian art is Frouhar, which is a symbol of Zoroastrian holy religion.
This symbol has been worked in a more stylized way and in combination with Lotus flower on bottom part of the seats.
Lotus flower has entered into the Iranian art from Achaemenian period. This flower which grows in swamp is a symbol of life and it has been popular very much.
The Lotus flower has been worked on all parts of the edges of the work and it has taken these parts out of simplicity and has added double value of beauty.
Hakim Abolghasem Ferdowsi’s Shahnameh is one of the greatest and the most prominent epic poem in the world which composing and editing of this treasure were achieved by at least 30-year tireless effort and suffering of this Iranian wise and grand poet (Ferdowsi). Shahnameh is the greatest book in Persian which is got attention in all around the world and it has been translated in all live languages in the world.
Each images of marquetry of furniture and chairs includes a huge number of different pieces with natural wooden coating. That for example the dining table contains about 4000 pieces which have been arranged together hardly as a puzzle by marquetry artists.
The miniature images which have been worked on the tables and behind the furniture in marquetry way, have been taken from the stories of Shahnameh.
In the middle of dining table the pattern of Arash Kamangir and the pattern of the battle of Rostam and the white dave have been designed. And around the work, the picture of 10 tombs of famous Iranian poets such as Saadi, Ferdowsi, Attar etc have been used.
On the dining table and table of furniture and end tables are covered by coating of Epoxy material which does not damage the marquetry part. This material is shockproof, anti-scratch and heat-resistant and much better than glass.
There is a creature which is a combination of the head of human, the body of lion and the wings of eagle that is called Sphinx. In Achaemenian art, it was very common. Probably because the head of human, which is a symbol of being thoughtful and the reason of human, its body which is the body of lion is a symbol of being strong and the wings of the eagle are symbols of flight and growth.
The image of this imaginary creature on handles of the sofa shows it extremely glorious.
